Wagner's Songbird Supreme Wild Bird Food 8 lb Bag — 50% Sunflower Blend, Resealable

This carefully balanced mix puts the seeds most-loved by songbirds front and center, designed to encourage visits from cardinals, finches, chickadees and other melodious guests. By concentrating on sunflower varieties plus added peanuts, safflower and millet, the blend delivers both attraction and energy while being versatile enough for tube, hopper or platform feeders. The bag includes a reclosable slider for simple storage and is made in the USA.

What makes this blend especially appealing to songbirds?

The mix is constructed from seeds that many common songbirds prefer, with sunflower seeds forming half the bag to provide an unmistakable draw. Added kernels and small seeds expand the range of species that will feed, creating a lively, diverse backyard avian community.

• 50% sunflower content: black oil, striped, and chips for strong attraction
• Peanut kernels for high-energy protein
• Safflower and white millet to support smaller songbirds
• No filler grains that rarely get eaten

How can I feed this mix at my feeders?

This blend is compatible with most common feeder styles — tube, hopper, and platform — and adapts easily to mixed-use setups. The seed sizes and types are chosen so they won’t clog typical dispensers and will be accessible to birds of several sizes.

• Tube feeders: sunflower chips and seeds drop cleanly for small and medium birds
• Hopper feeders: attracts larger songbirds and supports multiple visitors
• Platform or tray feeders: offers visible variety that draws ground-feeding songbirds
• Keep bag sealed with the slider to preserve freshness between refills

Will this mix attract different species throughout the year?

The combination of seed types supports seasonal diversity: high-energy sunflower and peanuts are especially attractive in colder months, while safflower and millet appeal to smaller species year-round. Using this blend consistently helps establish predictable feeding patterns and encourages repeat visits.

• Winter: sunflower and peanuts provide calories for cold-weather activity
• Spring/summer: varied seed sizes welcome breeding and migrating songbirds
• All year: balanced nutrition keeps a steady, diverse presence at your feeders
