Grills & Outdoor Cooking

Gas, charcoal, kamado and pellet grills, smokers, outdoor pizza ovens and griddles, plus the tools, thermometers, covers and replacement burners and grates that keep a grill going for a decade. Canadians grill year-round, so we pay attention to cold-weather performance: lid insulation, propane regulators that do not freeze and covers that survive snow load.

What to look for: a gas grill with stainless or cast-iron grates and burners covered by a warranty of at least five years; a smoker with a controller that holds temperature in a wind; a cover with a fitted shape and a fabric weight rated for winter; and a propane connection type that matches Canadian tanks (QCC1/Type 1). Check condo and municipal rules on charcoal and open flame before buying for a balcony.
