Rain Bird R-VAN24 Adjustable Rotary Nozzles 17–24 ft, 5-Pack — Low-Precipitation Wind-Resistant Streams

Rain Bird R-VAN (17-24) adjustable rotary nozzles are hand-adjustable, low-precipitation sprinkler nozzles that deliver thick, wind-resistant streams for efficient irrigation across a 17–24 foot radius.

The R-VAN24 replaces traditional spray nozzles to cut water use and runoff while offering flexible pattern and distance control without tools. Designed for use with Rain Bird spray bodies and many common risers and adapters, these rotary nozzles use rotating stream technology and large droplets to hold water in the target zone, reduce misting, and perform better in windy conditions. A convenient manual flush feature helps clear debris and maintain reliable operation in real-world landscapes.

How do R-VAN nozzles save water compared with standard spray nozzles?

R-VAN nozzles lower applied water by reducing the precipitation rate and replacing fine spray with concentrated rotating streams. That reduces surface runoff and improves absorption, so less water is wasted while maintaining uniform coverage.

• Rotating streams reduce misting and evaporation compared to conventional sprays
• Can reduce flow by up to 60% when retrofitted to standard sprays
• Improves overall irrigation efficiency up to about 30%
• Low precipitation rate minimizes erosion on slopes and compacted soils

What adjustment options does the R-VAN24 provide for pattern and distance?

You can set arc and radius by hand — no tools needed. The nozzle’s adjustable head lets you dial in anywhere from a 45° to 270° arc and trim the radius within the 17–24 ft operating band for precise targeting around beds, turf, and landscape features.

• Arc adjustment: 45° to 270° by hand
• Radius range: 17–24 ft (5.2–7.3 m), recommended at 45 psi
• Color-coded models make selection and replacement quick
• Matches with Rain Bird 5000 Series rotors for extended design ranges

Will these nozzles perform well in windy or dirty conditions?

Yes — R-VAN nozzles produce thicker droplets and consistent rotating streams that cut through wind better than fine sprays, keeping water where it’s needed. They also include a manual flush feature to clear debris and reduce clogging risk when sediment or organic matter is present.

• Thicker droplets resist wind drift and misting
• Durable streams preserve uniformity in adverse weather
• Manual flush lets you clear dirt without disassembly
• Operates reliably across the 30–55 psi pressure range

How do I integrate R-VAN nozzles into an existing irrigation system?

R-VAN nozzles are designed to retrofit most Rain Bird spray bodies and a wide selection of risers and adapters, so swaps are straightforward. Match the nozzle radius and arc to the sprinkler spacing and confirm operating pressure for best performance.

• Compatible with all Rain Bird spray bodies and many risers/adapters
• Recommended operating pressure: 45 psi (range 30–55 psi)
• Works with Rain Bird MPR rotors for designs from 13' to 35'
• Five-nozzle pack simplifies multiple-head upgrades

Who is this for: The Rain Bird R-VAN24 5-pack is aimed at landscapers, irrigation contractors, and homeowners wanting to upgrade spray-head zones for better water management. It suits installations that need flexible arc control, reduced runoff on slopes or compacted soils, wind-resistant watering, and an easy retrofit path without special tools.
