iBorn Finch Feeder — 13.5in Yellow Nyjer Seed Feeder, 2.2 lb Capacity, Weatherproof Roof & Spill-Proof Tray

The iBorn Finch Feeder is a weatherproof, metal-mesh nyjer seed feeder built for small birds—featuring a large 2.2 lb capacity, a wide 17 cm rainproof roof, a spill-proof bottom tray with wing nut lock, and a sturdy metal hanger to stay put even in windy conditions.

Designed to attract finches and other small songbirds, this 13.5-inch iBorn bird feeder combines fine 0.6 cm mesh that admits tiny seeds while keeping larger birds and squirrels at bay, with practical maintenance features like a flip-top refill and tool-free disassembly. Its roomy roof and eight drainage holes protect seed from moisture, and the anti-sway metal hook keeps the feeder secure on branches or poles so birds can feed undisturbed.

How does the iBorn feeder protect seed from rain and dampness?

The iBorn feeder has an extended 17 cm weatherproof roof engineered to block rain and wind from reaching the mesh tube. Water is directed away from the seed area, while eight drainage holes on the base quickly shed any moisture to prevent clumping and spoilage.

• 17 cm wide roof for expanded coverage against rain and sideways wind
• Drainage system with 8 holes to expel water fast
• Fine metal mesh keeps seed ventilated while limiting moisture contact

Will larger birds or squirrels be able to raid this feeder?

The feeder’s 0.6 cm (0.24") fine metal mesh is purpose-built for small-beak birds like finches and nyjer-eaters, which discourages access by larger bird species and most squirrels. That smaller aperture also reduces wasted seed falling to the ground, so you get longer-lasting feed with less mess.

• Fine mesh sizing suited for tiny seeds and small-beaked birds
• Metal construction resists gnawing and pecking better than plastic
• Bottom tray contains accidental spills and concentrates seed where birds can reach it

How easy is it to fill, clean, and maintain the feeder?

Refilling is fast thanks to the single-hand flip-top design that opens in about five seconds without removing the feeder from its hanger. For cleaning, the base uses a butterfly-style wing nut for tool-free disassembly so you can rinse, scrub, and dry the components quickly between refills.

• Flip-top lid for quick, one-handed refills even in cold weather
• Tool-free 3-step disassembly with butterfly button for deep cleaning
• Durable metal parts resist bending and make maintenance straightforward

How does the feeder stay stable in windy conditions?

Instead of thin cord hangers that swing or fray, the iBorn feeder uses a reinforced metal fixed hook that attaches securely to trees or poles. This reduces swaying that can scare birds away and prevents accidental drops that could spill seed or damage the feeder.

• Reinforced metal hook closure for stable hanging
• Reduced motion helps birds feel safe while feeding
• Built to stay attached in strong winds without replacing fragile strings

Who is this for: The iBorn Finch Feeder is ideal for backyard birdwatchers who want to attract finches, siskins, and other small songbirds with nyjer or thistle seed while minimizing seed waste and maintenance. It suits homeowners and gardeners who need a durable, weather-resistant feeder that stays secure in wind, deters larger birds and squirrels, and is simple to refill and clean. If you want a dependable, metal-mesh tube feeder that balances capacity, protection from the elements, and easy upkeep, this feeder is a practical choice for any small-bird-friendly yard.
