Jealoeur Hanging Bird Feeder for Outdoors — Brown 2.2 lb Capacity, Easy-Fill Roof

Jealoeur Hanging Bird Feeder is a ready-to-hang outdoor seed station with a 2.2 lb capacity, an easy-fill latch lid, and a rain-shedding hexagonal roof.

Bring birds to your garden with a durable, user-friendly feeder designed for convenience and frequent backyard visitors. The Jealoeur Hanging Bird Feeder is molded from sturdy plastic, arrives fully assembled, and stores enough wild bird seed to feed small flocks for days. Its retractable body and simple push-to-open latch make refills and cleaning straightforward, while the angled roof helps keep seed dry and gives perched birds a shaded landing area.

How does the Jealoeur feeder make filling and cleaning easier?

The feeder uses a top latch and push-open lid so you can refill without removing the entire unit from its hanger. Its retractable design gives wide access to the seed reservoir, and the smooth plastic surfaces wipe clean quickly.

• Push-to-open lid for one-handed filling
• Retractable body exposes the seed chamber for easy scooping
• Plastic construction resists stains and rinses clean
• Comes fully assembled—hang and fill

Will it protect seed from rain and sun?

The hexagonal, sloped roof diverts rain and creates shade for birds using the tray. Because the tray refills naturally from the reservoir, seeds stay mostly sheltered until they reach the feeding area, reducing wet, clumped seed.

• Angled roof sheds water away from the tray
• Roof provides shaded perching spots for birds
• Design minimizes seed exposure to direct sun and moisture
• Tray refills from the internal reservoir to limit spillage

What species and seed types does this feeder accommodate?

This feeder accepts common backyard mixes and whole seeds such as sunflower, safflower, and mixed wild bird seed. Its tray and perching space are best suited to small to medium songbirds and finches that feed from open platforms.

• Compatible with sunflower, safflower, and mixed wild bird seed
• Open tray design attracts finches, sparrows, chickadees, and similar species
• Not specialized for nyjer or suet—use standard seed mixes
• 2.2 lb capacity supports more frequent visitors and reduces refill frequency

How large is it and where should I hang it?

Measuring about 8.7 x 7.6 x 7.8 inches, the feeder is compact enough for porches, eaves, and backyard trees. Hang it at a height and location that balances visibility for birdwatching with predator safety—near shrubs or branches that provide quick cover.

• Dimensions: 8.7 x 7.6 x 7.8 inches (compact footprint)
• Holds approximately 2.2 lb (1 kg) of seed
• Suitable for eaves, porch hooks, shepherd's hooks, or tree branches
• Place near natural cover but away from heavy predator access

Who is this for: The Jealoeur Hanging Bird Feeder is a practical choice for homeowners and apartment dwellers who want a low-maintenance, attractive feeding station that supports frequent backyard visitors. It suits beginner and intermediate bird enthusiasts who prefer a simple, assembled solution that holds enough seed for regular use, while still being easy to refill, clean, and move as needed.
