Schoen Farms Little Mess Wild Bird Food Mix — 10 lb No‑Waste Bag with Hulled Sunflower Hearts & Millet for Finches, Jays, Cardinal

Schoen Farms Little Mess Wild Bird Food Mix is a 10 lb no‑waste bird seed blend featuring hulled sunflower hearts and millet designed to attract finches, jays, cardinals and other backyard songbirds while keeping outdoor areas clean.

Bring reliable, low‑mess feeding to your yard with a blend crafted on a family farm in Canada. This formula removes shells and filler so you spend less time sweeping and more time watching birds. The resealable 10 lb bag preserves freshness and delivers the mix where birds feed most—platform feeders, hopper feeders, and seed trays—so you get consistent visits from a broad variety of species.

How does this mix reduce cleanup around feeders?

The Little Mess blend uses hulled seeds and intentionally minimizes shelling parts that create debris. With fewer discarded shells and unpalatable filler seeds, your patio, deck, and lawn stay tidier after birds feed. That means less frequent sweeping and easier maintenance for homeowners and renter patios alike.

• Hulled sunflower hearts eliminate heavy, messy shells.
• Low‑filler formulation reduces leftover seeds on the ground.
• Designed for platform and hopper feeders to contain any stray bits.

Which backyard birds are attracted to this seed blend?

This recipe appeals to a range of common backyard species that favor high‑energy seeds. Finches, jays, chickadees, cardinals and nuthatches are often among the most frequent visitors. The combination of sunflower hearts and millet provides both fat and carbohydrate sources that these birds seek throughout the year.

• Sunflower hearts draw cardinals and jays with high‑energy nutrition.
• Millet attracts finches and smaller seed‑eating songbirds.
• Well‑balanced mix works for both perching and ground‑feeding visitors.

How should I store and use the 10 lb bag to keep it fresh?

The product comes in a resealable bag to help lock in freshness after opening. Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and rodents to preserve seed quality. Refill feeders regularly and use a scoop or funnel to reduce spills while pouring.

• Resealable packaging helps limit moisture and pests.
• Keep in a garage or shed to maintain quality over weeks.
• Use shallow trays or platform feeders for easiest consumption.

What makes Schoen Farms’ Little Mess different from standard seed mixes?

The mix is crafted on a family‑owned Canadian farm with quality control focused on minimizing waste and maximizing bird appeal. Unlike typical mixes that include cheap filler seeds, this blend emphasizes hulled and easily digestible components. The result is better feed conversion by birds and less cleanup for you.

• Produced and blended in Canada on a family farm.
• No excessive fillers or shelling ingredients to create debris.
• Formulated for consistent attraction and less maintenance.
