Pond Worx Black Pond Dye – 4X Concentrated 1 Qt, Treats Up to 1 Acre, Fish-Safe Colorant

Pond Worx Black Pond Dye is a concentrated liquid colorant that darkens and protects pond water, with one quart treating up to one surface acre (4–6 ft average depth).

If you want a dramatic, long-lasting black tint to reduce sunlight penetration, limit algae visibility, and improve visual depth, this 4x concentrated formula provides a rich, stable color without harming fish, pets, or wildlife when used according to directions. The dye works differently depending on existing water conditions, and it can last from about a month to three months depending on weather, evaporation, and outflow.

How will this dye change the look of my pond?

Applying Pond Worx Black converts clear water to a deep black-blue tone and can partially mask muddy brown conditions until sediments settle or are treated. Because the dye’s appearance depends on the pond’s current clarity and suspended materials, expect some variation between applications.

• Produces a true black tint with only blue added for depth.
• Muddy brown water may show a lighter blue tint until it clears.
• Color intensity varies with water clarity, depth, and sunlight.
• Visible color typically develops shortly after application.

Is this safe for fish, pets, and irrigation?

Pond Worx Black is formulated to be safe for aquatic life, people, pets, and wildlife when used exactly as directed. It does not introduce toxic chemicals that harm fish or make water unsuitable for irrigation or swimming under normal use conditions.

• Non-toxic when applied per label instructions.
• Safe for recreational and agricultural use when diluted appropriately.
• Does not remove oxygen or directly treat algae—visual masking only.
• Avoid over-application; follow dosage for your pond size and depth.

How much product do I need and how long will it last?

One quart of this 4x concentrated dye treats about one surface acre with an average depth of 4–6 feet. Durability ranges from roughly 30 to 90 days and is influenced by rainfall, evaporation, inflow and outflow, and how much sunlight reaches the water.

• One quart covers ~1 surface acre at 4–6 ft average depth.
• Reapply every 1–3 months depending on environmental factors.
• Higher inflow or heavy rainwaters dilute the dye faster.
• Use recommended rates to avoid uneven coloration.

Will my pond look the same every time I apply it?

No — dyes respond to changing pond conditions. If the tint differs dramatically from expectations, that signals an existing condition such as suspended sediment, organic load, or unusual clarity that’s affecting how the color appears.

• Preexisting sediments or algae can alter the final hue.
• The same pond may show slightly different shades between treatments.
• Test a small area first if uncertain about the resulting color.
• Combine with sediment management for more consistent results.

Who is this for: Pond Worx Black is designed for landowners, pond managers, and property caretakers who want a concentrated, easy-to-apply colorant to improve the aesthetic depth of ponds, hide muddy discoloration, and reduce visible algae bloom without toxic additives. It is ideal for ornamental ponds, farm reservoirs, community water features, and recreational water bodies where appearance and environmental safety matter, provided you follow application guidelines and monitor water conditions.
