INSISART Natural Wood Chips 12-Flavor Cocktail Smoker Kit — Fruitwoods, Hardwoods & Botanicals for Cocktails & Grilling

INSISART Natural Wood Chips are a 12-flavor assortment of chemical-free smoking woods and botanicals designed to add smoky aroma and nuanced flavor to cocktails, meats, cheese, and more.

Whether you’re elevating a smoked Old Fashioned or finishing a roasted salmon, this curated set brings twelve distinct flavor profiles—nine fruit and hardwoods plus three herbs and spices—to home and pro kitchens. Each variety is made from natural wood chips without preservatives, offering a clean smoke that highlights the character of your drink or dish. The compact sampler is also packaged as a gift-ready kit for enthusiasts of whiskey, craft cocktails, and backyard smoking.

How do these wood chips change the taste of cocktails?

Lightly smoldered wood chips release aromatic smoke that adheres to glassware and spirits, adding a layered scent and subtle flavor without overpowering the base spirit. Fruitwoods lend sweet, fruity notes while hardwoods bring deeper, savory smoke, and the botanicals introduce bright or warming accents.

• Apple, cherry, pear, and peach: soft, fruity sweetness for whiskey and cocktails.
• Oak, hickory, mesquite, and beech: robust, classic smoky backbone for darker spirits.
• Pecan and cinnamon: nutty and warm spice highlights for balanced complexity.
• Orange and rosemary: citric and herbal top notes to brighten aromatics.

What foods and cooking methods work best with the INSISART set?

These chips suit quick smoking finishes and longer low-and-slow cooking alike. Use them in a handheld cocktail smoker, smoking gun, stovetop smoker, or in a charcoal or gas grill to impart targeted smoke to meat, fish, cheese, and vegetables.

• Quick cocktail smoking: flash-smoke a glass or spirit for immediate aroma.
• Grill and smoker use: add chips directly to coals or a smoker box for fuller smoke penetration.
• Cold-smoking small items: cheese, nuts, and cured meats benefit from gentle, controlled smoke.
• Finishing touch for roasted proteins: sprinkle chips into foil pouches for an instant smoky crust.

How do I choose which flavor to use first?

Match wood notes to the flavor profile of the ingredient or drink: fruitwoods pair well with sweet or delicate items, while stronger hardwoods suit bold meats and aged spirits. The herbs and spice chips are ideal for creating unique aromatic accents.

• For bourbon or scotch: try oak, hickory, or pecan for complementary depth.
• For light cocktails and seafood: apple, cherry, or pear add subtle sweetness.
• When you want brightness: orange or rosemary chips lift herbal and citrus forward drinks.
• For warming desserts or spiced cocktails: cinnamon adds cozy spice notes.

How should I store and handle the wood chips?

Keep chips in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture to preserve aroma and burning characteristics. Use a small amount per session—these chips are designed for concentrated flavor— and re-seal packaging between uses to maintain freshness.

• Store in airtight jars or resealable bags after opening.
• Measure conservatively for cocktails; more smoke is not always better.
• Soak only when recipe-specific; generally use dry chips for intense aroma.
• Dispose of cooled ash safely and avoid indoor smoke build-up.
