Wilt-Pruf Concentrate Plant Protectant 1 Gal — Clear Pine-Resin Foliar Film for Winter & Drought Protection

Wilt-Pruf Concentrate is a professional-grade, clear pine-resin foliar film you mix and spray to reduce moisture loss and protect plants from winter drying, drought stress, and transplant shock.

Concentrated Wilt-Pruf creates a thin, flexible barrier that slows water evaporation from foliage and cut surfaces without blocking light or airflow. Designed for landscapers, gardeners, growers, and seasonal decor, this blendable formula replaces burlap for winter protection, helps extend the life of cut evergreens and holiday trees, and reduces stress after planting. Made in the USA from pine resin and biodegradable ingredients, the concentrate lets you adjust strength by season and need.

How does Wilt-Pruf help plants survive winter winds and cold?

Wilt-Pruf forms a clear, flexible film on leaves and needles that reduces moisture loss caused by drying winds and low-humidity conditions. It does not create an opaque barrier, so plants can continue light absorption and gas exchange while retaining internal moisture.

• Reduces winter desiccation for broadleaf and needle evergreens
• Applied at 1:5 (product:water) for maximum winter protection
• Dries to a soft, non-cracking finish that moves with foliage
• Safer and easier than wrapping with burlap

Can Wilt-Pruf reduce drought stress and lower watering needs?

When applied at the recommended dilution for drought, Wilt-Pruf slows foliar water loss so plants maintain hydration longer between irrigations. Using the concentrate at lighter ratios gives season-long benefits while saving product.

• Use 1:12 mix for routine drought protection applications
• Apply two to three times during dry seasons for sustained effect
• Helps newly planted specimens retain moisture during establishment
• Non-plastic pine-resin formula breaks down naturally over time

Will Wilt-Pruf harm photosynthesis or plant respiration?

Wilt-Pruf dries to a clear film that preserves light transmission and allows gas exchange, supporting normal photosynthesis and respiration processes. The formula was developed to be plant-friendly and is widely used by professionals because it does not suffocate foliage.

• Clear finish maintains light penetration
• Flexible film won’t seal stomata permanently
• Safe for a wide range of ornamentals, evergreens, and cut greens
• Biodegradable ingredients derived from pine resin

How do I mix and apply the concentrate for different uses?

The concentrate gives you control: stronger mixes for harsh winter exposure and weaker mixes for drought or seasonal preservation. Apply with a sprayer and let the film dry before exposure; follow label rates for specialized tasks like preserving cut trees or pumpkins.

• Winter protection: mix up to 1:5 (Wilt-Pruf:water)
• Drought or general use: mix around 1:12 for economy and season-long coverage
• Apply evenly until foliage is coated; allow to dry to a soft film
• Can be used on indoor or outdoor holiday décor and cut greenery
