Vansdon 10AWG Solar Panel Extension Cable 2x50ft Red/Black — IP67 Waterproof, Tin-Plated Copper

Vansdon's 2x50ft 10AWG solar extension cable is a weatherproof, high-conductivity pair of red and black leads with preinstalled male and female waterproof connectors for extending photovoltaic arrays, RV systems, and off-grid setups.

This 2x50-foot cable set combines 10AWG tin-plated copper conductors, thick PPO flame-retardant insulation and IP67-rated connectors to deliver reliable outdoor performance for solar panels and charge controllers. Built to resist UV, moisture and temperature extremes, these cables are sized and certified for photovoltaic use and designed to minimize voltage drop and corrosion over long runs.

How does this cable improve solar system performance?

The tin-plated copper conductors offer lower resistance and better corrosion resistance than plain copper, reducing energy loss across the run. The 6mm² cross-section (10AWG) supports higher current capacity, which helps maintain charging efficiency especially on longer extensions.

• 10AWG (6mm²) conductor with conductor resistance ≤5.09Ω/km at 20°C
• Rated current 57A for robust output handling
• Tinned copper improves conductivity and corrosion protection
• Low-voltage-drop design for longer cable runs

Are the connectors and cable durable enough for outdoor use?

Yes — the cables use durable PPO flame-retardant insulation and IP67-rated male/female connectors that lock securely for weatherproof connections. Materials and testing (TÜV, CE) mean the assembly is built to withstand sun, rain and freezing conditions without rapid degradation.

• IP67 waterproof connectors suitable for outdoor exposure
• PPO outer jacket resists UV, moisture and abrasion
• Operating temperature range -40°C to 90°C for extreme climates
• Designed for burial or exposed runs with long service life

How easy is it to install and connect to my RV or solar array?

Installation is straightforward: the pair comes preterminated with a male and female connector at each end, and a self-locking mechanism ensures a secure fit. One end connects to the panel, the other to a charge controller or parallel/string extension, so typical DIY or professional setups are quick to assemble.

• Preinstalled male and female waterproof connectors for plug-and-play
• Self-locking connector system prevents accidental separation
• Compatible with common PV connector types used on most modules
• Available in common lengths and gauges to match system needs

What specifications and safety features should I be aware of?

The cable meets common photovoltaic performance criteria and safety testing, offering a high test voltage tolerance and flame-retardant insulation. These specifications help ensure safe operation in residential and mobile solar installations when used within rated limits.

• Test voltage: 6500V; suited for PV system use
• TÜV, CE certifications for quality and safety
• Temperature range -40°C to 90°C and UV-resistant jacket
• Conductor and jacket suited for direct burial or exposed runs

Who is this for? Vansdon's 2x50ft 10AWG solar extension cable is aimed at homeowners, RV and boat owners, vanlifers, and solar installers who need a rugged, low-loss extension between panels and controllers or to link strings. It's a practical choice when you require a reliable outdoor-rated cable that balances current capacity with long-term weather resistance for small to medium PV systems.
