The Old Farmer's Almanac Houseplant & Flower Plant Food Mini Spikes — 24 Extra-Large 5-5-5 NPK, 6–8 Week Slow-Release

The Old Farmer's Almanac Houseplant & Flower Plant Food Mini Spikes are pre-measured 5-5-5 fertilizer spikes that deliver steady nutrition to container and indoor plants for up to 6–8 weeks per application.

These mini spikes are designed to simplify plant feeding by releasing balanced NPK directly into the root zone. Each package contains 24 extra-large spikes—about twice the size of typical fertilizer spikes—so you feed more plants with fewer replacements. The spikes use the TruSpike design for clean insertion without crumbling, and they work for flowering and foliage plants both inside the home and outdoors in containers, hanging baskets, and window boxes.

How do these spikes feed my plants over time?

The spikes dissolve slowly in the soil, providing a continuous supply of nutrients rather than a single quick dose. That steady release supports ongoing growth and bloom production without frequent liquid feeding.

• Balanced 5-5-5 NPK formula for growth, blooms, and root strength.
• Slow-release action lasts typically 6–8 weeks per insertion.
• Pre-measured spikes eliminate guesswork and overfeeding risks.

Are these spikes easy to use for indoor pots and small containers?

Yes—each spike is simple to press into potting mix near the root zone, avoiding mess and measuring. The TruSpike construction resists breaking or crumbling, so you won’t get dusty residue or uneven dosing.

• No measuring or mixing required—push into soil and water as usual.
• Twice the size of standard spikes—fewer replacements for larger pots.
• Works in hanging baskets, window boxes, and small outdoor containers.

What benefits will I see in flowers and foliage?

Regular feeding with this balanced formula promotes fuller foliage and more vivid blooms without specialized fertilizers for each stage. Because nutrients are evenly provided, plants maintain healthier growth cycles across changing indoor light conditions.

• Supports leaf fullness and richer color development.
• Encourages more frequent and abundant flowering in bloom-producing plants.
• Improves root vigor and overall stress tolerance in containers.

How often should I reapply and can I use these outside?

Reapply every 6–8 weeks for continuous feeding; frequency may vary with plant size, growth rate, and container conditions. The spikes are suitable for both indoor and outdoor container plants but are not formulated for open-ground garden beds.

• Recommended schedule: insert new spikes every 6–8 weeks.
• Appropriate for indoor pots, patios, balconies, and outdoor containers.
• Not intended as a substitute for soil amendments in in-ground gardens.

Who is this for: These mini spikes are ideal for busy plant owners who want reliable, low-maintenance nutrition for houseplants, flowering containers, hanging baskets, and window boxes. They suit beginners who prefer no-mess feeding and experienced gardeners wanting consistent bloom and foliage support without frequent fertilizing chores.
