THE FRYOILSAVER COMPANY Mr Bar-B-Q Volcanic Lava Rocks for Gas Grill & Fire Pit, 7 lb 2-Pack — Porous Heat-Retaining, Flare-Reduci

Natural volcanic lava rocks from THE FRYOILSAVER COMPANY provide even heat distribution and reduce flare-ups for gas grills and fire pits.

These 7 lb (2-pack) Mr Bar-B-Q volcanic lava rocks are porous, lightweight stones intended to protect burners, retain heat, and create an attractive, low-maintenance surface for indoor and outdoor gas flame appliances. Made from genuine volcanic material, they absorb drippings, minimize smoke, and offer a rustic look that conceals gas lines while withstanding high temperatures and thermal cycling.

How do these lava rocks improve grilling performance?

Placed above burners, the porous lava rocks catch grease and vaporize drippings before they can ignite, which reduces sudden flare-ups and helps food cook more evenly. Their irregular surfaces increase radiant heat and disperse hot spots to prevent localized charring.

• Absorb grease to reduce flare-ups and smoking
• Disperse flame for more consistent heat across the grate
• Porous structure retains and radiates heat efficiently
• Lightweight compared with glass alternatives for easier handling

Are these safe and durable for indoor fire bowls and outdoor fire pits?

The natural volcanic composition tolerates high temperatures and rapid thermal changes, making these stones suitable for both covered indoor fire bowls and outdoor gas fire pit tables. They don’t produce ash or significant smoke like wood, and they act as a stable base that conceals plumbing or burner components.

• Resistant to thermal shock for repeated heating cycles
• Low-maintenance—no ash or soot buildup to clean
• Durable surface hides burners and gas lines for a neat finish
• Suitable for patio heaters, fire pits, and decorative bowls

How do I use and maintain these 7 lb lava rock packs?

Spread an even layer over your gas grill’s lava tray or arrange the stones to cover the burner pan in a fire pit. Routine maintenance involves brushing or rinsing to remove heavy grease; avoid soaking if possible and allow stones to cool fully before cleaning.

• Install as a single, even layer to protect burners
• Brush or hose off cooled stones to remove residues
• Replace damaged or heavily soiled portions rather than discarding all
• Store dry when not in use to extend lifespan

Will these lava rocks change the look or atmosphere of my space?

Yes — genuine volcanic rock adds a natural, rustic aesthetic while hiding unsightly hardware and piping. The textured, matte finish complements both modern and traditional settings, creating a warm, inviting focal point around a fire pit or grill.

• Natural color and texture enhance outdoor and indoor decor
• Conceals burners and gas lines for a cleaner appearance
• Lightweight composition simplifies arrangement and layering
• Works as decorative cover or base layer for fire features

Who is this for: Homeowners and renters seeking a straightforward, natural solution to improve their gas grill or fire pit performance will appreciate these 7 lb packs. Ideal for backyard cooks who want to reduce flare-ups, property owners who want a low-maintenance decorative layer, and anyone installing an indoor or outdoor gas fire feature who needs heat-retentive, durable media that conceals hardware without creating ash or smoke.
