Packaged with planting guidance and storage-friendly materials, the seeds are aimed at gardeners, pollinator supporters, and habitat restorers seeking an easy-to-grow native annual with abundant blooms.

How much area will this packet cover and how many seeds does it contain?

This extra large packet contains more than one full ounce of pure seed—over 100,000 viable coresopsis seeds—sufficient to seed roughly 1,000 square feet when broadcast or surface sown. Coverage depends on sowing method and desired density.

• Seed count: 100,000+ open-pollinated seeds.
• Estimated coverage: about 1,000 sq ft for light meadow seeding.
• Sowing density: increase seeds per square foot for a fuller display or formal beds.

When and how do I plant these Coreopsis seeds for best results?

For best germination, sow Plains Coreopsis seed in spring after danger of hard frost or in fall where winters are mild. These seeds are commonly surface sown—press lightly into loosened soil without deep burial—so light can help trigger germination.

• Timing: spring or autumn, depending on climate zone.
• Method: broadcast or scatter and lightly firm the soil; avoid deep planting.
• Soil and light: well-drained soil and full sun maximize bloom production.

What maintenance and care does Coreopsis tinctoria need during the season?

Plains Coreopsis is low-maintenance once established: regular watering until seedlings are set, then only occasional supplemental water in prolonged dry spells. Deadheading spent flowers can extend the bloom period, but many gardeners allow seed set for next season or for wildlife food.

• Watering: keep evenly moist until established; then drought-tolerant.
• Fertilizer: minimal feeding; rich soils can reduce flowering.
• Pest/disease: generally resilient and suited to naturalized planting.

• Pollinator-friendly: abundant nectar and pollen for insects.
