Sturdon Compost & Peat Moss Spreader Roller — 24-inch Topdresser, 2.79 cu ft, Self‑Cleaning Brush

This compact roller is built to help homeowners and landscapers apply soil amendments more efficiently across lawns, seed beds, and damaged turf. The reinforced side clamps, large hinged loading door, and diamond metal mesh drum are designed to handle wet or sticky materials while resisting wear from outdoor use. An adjustable T-handle and weather-resistant finish make the unit comfortable for long jobs and durable through multiple seasons.

How does this spreader improve topdressing speed and coverage?

The 24-inch wide drum and 2.79 cubic foot capacity reduce the number of refills needed, covering roughly 250–300 sq ft per load. The wide roller distributes material across a larger swath than handheld spreaders, making it ideal for medium to large lawns.

• 24-inch drum width for broader coverage per pass
• 2.79 cu ft true capacity holds up to 85 lbs per load
• Covers approximately 250–300 sq ft per fill
• Large hinged door speeds up refilling and material changes

What keeps moist compost or peat moss from clogging the mesh?

The Sturdon roller has a full-width, self-cleaning brush that rides the diamond metal mesh to remove sticky residues while rolling. The brush is removable so you can choose to use it for wet materials or take it off for smoother rolling with dry mixes.

• Angled bristles maintain contact with mesh to clear damp debris
• Removable brush option for dry or sticky materials
• Diamond metal mesh design promotes even breakup and distribution
• Helps maintain a consistent spread pattern when in use

Is the spreader durable and easy to assemble?

Sturdon upgraded the side clamps, handle bracket, and side lock to strengthen connections and resist bending during pushing and turning. The drum and frame receive a thermal spray coating to improve weather resistance, and the product ships with simple assembly guidance and customer support if needed.

• Reinforced side clamps and protected side lock for added durability
• Weather-resistant steel finish to limit rust and wear
• Manual guidance included plus customer support for setup
• Recommended: use your own wrench for easier, firmer assembly

How does the design make it comfortable to use?

The T-shaped handle has a non-slip grip and is adjustable to accommodate different user heights, reducing fatigue during longer topdressing sessions. The roller’s balanced construction and easy-release loading door also minimize awkward lifting and crouching when refilling.

• Adjustable ergonomic T-handle reduces strain and improves control
• Non-slip grip for secure handling in wet conditions
• Balanced drum design eases pushing and turning across lawns
• Large hinged door reduces bending and spills during fills
