STARSWR Wooden Hanging Birdhouse for Garden — Drop-Shaped Outdoor Nesting House, 1.57-inch Entrance

STARSWR's wooden hanging bird house is a handcrafted outdoor shelter that offers a cozy, ventilated nesting spot for small birds like bluebirds, finches, and cardinals.

This drop-shaped wooden birdhouse combines natural materials and thoughtful details to bring birds closer to your garden while protecting them from wind, rain, and predators. Built from solid wood with a wide-bottom design and a 1.57-inch entrance, it balances usable interior space with a small entrance hole ideal for many backyard species. The house includes a hemp rope for hanging and a rear access door for ventilation and cleaning, making it practical for regular maintenance and seasonal use.

How does this birdhouse keep birds comfortable and safe?

The shape and materials create a sheltered interior with airflow and protection from weather. The entrance diameter limits larger predators while a small perch allows birds to rest or scout before entering.

• Drop-shaped profile with a wider bottom for interior room and movement.
• 1.57-inch entrance hole to suit small backyard birds like finches and bluebirds.
• Rear access door improves ventilation and enables easy cleaning.
• Strong hemp rope for secure hanging from branches, fences, or pergolas.

How do I hang and position the birdhouse for best results?

Choose a quiet location 5–10 feet above ground, sheltered from prevailing winds and with some nearby cover for birds to land. Ensure the hemp rope and branch or hook are sturdy and avoid direct midday sun to keep the interior cool.

• Hang from a secure branch, vine, fence post, or sturdy hook using the included hemp rope.
• Place in partial shade with nearby perches or shrubs for approach and escape cover.
• Avoid hanging over busy walkways or open lawns where predators can lurk.
• Mount 5–10 feet high depending on local predators and species behavior.

What maintenance does the wooden birdhouse require?

Routine checks and an annual clean will keep the house inviting and sanitary. The rear door makes removal of old nesting material and debris straightforward without disturbing nearby birds unnecessarily.

• Open the back access door to remove nesting material and debris for cleaning.
• Inspect rope and wood for wear after harsh weather; replace rope if frayed.
• Clean once a year or between broods to reduce parasites and maintain hygiene.
• Reapply a natural, bird-safe sealant if you use the birdhouse in very wet climates.

Which bird species will use this house and how big is the space inside?

The 1.57-inch entrance and the roomy drop-shaped interior suit many small garden birds. Species attracted commonly include bluebirds, house finches, chickadees, and sometimes smaller cardinals depending on local behavior.

• Entrance hole: 1.57 inches — ideal for small to medium small birds.
• Exterior dimensions: 6.9" L x 5.9" W x 7.8" H for a comfortably sized interior.
• Perch platform at the entrance helps birds feed and inspect safely.
• Natural wood construction blends with garden settings and provides insulation.
