Restaurantware Carbon Steel Round Griddle Comal, 14.6 x 11.1 in — Nonstick with Chrome Handles

This Met Lux small round comal from Restaurantware blends carbon steel durability with a nonstick finish to streamline cooking and cleanup. At 14.6 by 11.06 inches it offers a balanced footprint for home kitchens, food trucks, and small commercial stations where consistent heat and quick turnaround matter. Chrome handles add secure lift and transportability, and the comal's grease-resistant surface is built for frequent use without sacrificing performance.

How does this comal improve everyday cooking?

The comal's nonstick coating prevents delicate foods from sticking, so you can flip tortillas, pancakes, or omelets with minimal oil. Carbon steel beneath the finish promotes fast, even browning, reducing hot spots that cause uneven cooking. Together they shorten cook times and simplify cleanup after service.

• Nonstick surface means less oil and fewer ruined pancakes or tortillas.
• Carbon steel core distributes heat consistently across the cooking plane.
• Compact size heats quickly on standard home burners or griddles.

Can I move this comal safely from stovetop to table?

Yes — ergonomically placed chrome handles offer a firm grip for transferring the comal between heat and serving stations. The handles stay securely attached during normal use, and their shape keeps hands away from the hot cooking surface. Always use pot holders when necessary, as metal handles will reflect heat.

• Chrome handles designed for stable lifting and pouring.
• Low-profile rim makes food transfer easy without spills.
• Compact footprint reduces the risk of tipping on small ranges or counters.

What types of dishes can I make on this small round comal?

This comal is versatile for a spectrum of griddle tasks: from crisping tortillas and frying eggs to searing sandwiches and toasting spices. Its size is ideal for single-batch cooking or preparing components for larger plates. Use it for breakfast service, quick tapas, or as a prep tool in tight kitchens.

• Tortillas, quesadillas, and crepes that require quick, even contact heat.
• Eggs, grilled cheese, and paninis that benefit from consistent browning.
• Light searing of vegetables, nuts, or spices for finishing and toasting.

How should I care for the comal to keep performance consistent?

Maintain the nonstick finish by avoiding high-abrasion scrubs and metal utensils that can scratch the surface. Clean gently with warm water and a soft sponge; for stuck-on bits, soak briefly before wiping. Regular, gentle care prolongs the coating and preserves the underlying carbon steel’s heat response.

• Hand wash with mild detergent and a soft sponge; avoid steel wool.
• Dry promptly to prevent surface oxidation; store flat or hung by handles.
• Use silicone, wooden, or nylon utensils to protect the nonstick layer.
