A compact, weather-resistant cedar hanging bird house kit from Paiaojia that you assemble, hang, and paint to welcome finches, bluebirds, and cardinals to your yard.

This Paiaojia wooden bird house is a ready-to-build outdoor shelter designed for backyard birdwatching and garden decor. Made of high-grade natural cedar, the kit includes all parts, screws, and a screwdriver so you can assemble a sturdy nesting box and personalize it with paint. The house’s compact footprint fits on branches, porches, or under eaves while the rain awning and ventilation features protect young birds through changing seasons.

How is this bird house built to withstand outdoor weather?

The house uses premium cedar wood chosen for natural rot resistance and stability against sun and moisture. Joinery and included screws create a rigid structure, and the overhanging awning helps divert rain away from the entrance.

• High-grade cedar resists decay, insects, and climatic wear
• Pre-cut parts and secure screws ensure tight seams
• Rain awning reduces direct water on the opening and base
• Sturdy hemp hanging rope and pre-drilled holes for reliable mounting

What makes assembly simple and suitable for a DIY project?

Paiaojia supplies ten pre-cut components, the awning piece, screws, and a screwdriver so no extra tools are required. Parts are labeled for straightforward alignment, letting adults and teens enjoy a short, satisfying build before painting and hanging.

• One kit contains all wooden panels, awning, screws, and screwdriver
• Clear fit-together design shortens assembly time and learning curve
• Detachable panels let you access the interior for cleaning
• Paintable surface accepts acrylic and outdoor-safe finishes

Which birds will use this house and why are the dimensions important?

The interior size and round entrance are suited to small to medium songbirds such as finches, bluebirds, and smaller cardinals. The compact dimensions provide a cozy nest while limiting access for larger predators and competitors.

• Internal size approximately 4.7" x 6.7" x 6.7"—comfortable for small songbirds
• Circular entry deters larger birds and squirrels from invading
• Ventilation holes help keep the nest cool and dry
• Hangs or mounts securely to branches, eaves, or fences

Where should I place the bird house for best results?

Position the house in a sheltered location away from heavy foot traffic and direct midday sun. Mount it 5–15 feet high where predators have limited access, and near shrubs or trees so fledglings can reach cover after leaving the nest.

• Hang from branches using the included hemp rope or mount under eaves
• Choose a location with partial shade and nearby cover for safety
• Avoid busy areas and places accessible to cats or raccoons
• Easy-to-open panels allow seasonal cleaning and nest checks
