Ottsuls Shepherd Hook Adjustable Garden Stake — Black 6-Section Plant Hanger with Five-Prong Stable Base, Rust-Resistant Steel

Ottsuls Shepherd-Hooks are heavy-duty, adjustable garden stakes with a unique five-prong base designed to hold bird feeders, lanterns, hanging baskets and outdoor decor securely in place.

This versatile metal plant hanger combines a vintage-inspired silhouette with modern stability upgrades so you can display lights, planters and decorations outdoors without worrying about tipping or rust. Constructed from thick steel with a smooth black powder coat finish, the Ottsuls hook assembles from multiple interlocking poles for customizable height and straightforward storage when the season ends. Its reinforced base and screw-together design make it a reliable choice for patios, gardens, wedding aisles and backyard entertaining.

How does the five-prong base improve stability?

The Ottsuls shepherd hook uses an expanded base with five long, double-forked prongs that dig into the soil and resist twisting or wobbling. This design spreads the load and prevents the hook from leaning under the weight of heavier feeders or multiple decorations.

• Five ground prongs for broader surface contact and reduced tipping
• Double-forked ends add grip in soft or uneven soil
• Extra-long stakes deliver deeper anchoring for wind resistance
• Stable upright posture even with heavier hanging items

Can I adjust the height and how easy is assembly?

The pole system breaks down into six threaded sections that screw together quickly, so you can tailor the hook height or disassemble it for storage in minutes. The modular design also allows compact packing for seasonal storage or transporting to event sites like wedding venues.

• Six-part pole assembly for flexible height configurations
• Threaded connectors twist together firmly—no special tools required
• Lightweight sections make installation simple for one person
• Quick disassembly for winter storage or event transport

What kinds of items can I hang from this shepherd hook?

Ottsuls hooks are multifunctional and can hold a wide range of outdoor hangings, from plant baskets to mason jars and string lights. Their classic look complements garden decor while the robust construction supports heavier pieces such as fountain lanterns or bird feeders.

• Hanging flower baskets and coco-fiber planters
• Bird feeders, hummingbird feeders and small birdbaths
• Lanterns, solar lights, string lights and candle holders
• Decorative items for weddings, parties, and seasonal displays

Will the finish resist weather and rust over time?

The shepherd hook is coated with a smooth black powder finish that protects the metal from moisture and slows corrosion. While the finish helps extend life outdoors, occasional cleaning and dry storage during prolonged wet seasons will maximize longevity.

• Durable black powder coating for outdoor protection
• Heavy-gauge steel core for structural strength
• Easy to wipe clean to remove dirt and pollen buildup
• Disassemble and store in winter to preserve finish longer
