ORIMERC Capillary Wick Cord Self-Watering for Plants 120 ft 1/6in Polyester Reusable Washable

ORIMERC 120 feet 1/6 inch capillary wick cord is a washable, chemical-free polyester rope that draws water from a reservoir to potted plants for automatic, low-maintenance watering.

This 120-foot, 1/6-inch diameter polyester wick is designed for gardeners who want a simple, durable way to keep houseplants, seedlings, African violets and potted arrangements hydrated while away or between regular watering. Tested for neutral pH and free from common contaminants, the cord relies on capillary action to transfer water steadily from any container you choose into the soil — no batteries, pumps or fragile glass required. Its flexible length and washable construction make it suitable for multi-pot setups, DIY hydroponic wicking systems, and targeted watering in crowded planters.

How do I set up the ORIMERC wick for automatic plant watering?

Setting up takes minutes: place one end of the wick into a water reservoir and bury the other end a few inches into the potting mix near the plant’s root zone. Adjust reservoir size and wick placement to control delivery rate.

• Insert reservoir (bottle, jar, or bucket) beside or below pots.
• Thread one end into water and the other into soil 1–2 inches from roots.
• Trim wick to length; multiple pots can share a single reservoir.

What makes this polyester wick safer and longer-lasting than alternatives?

The ORIMERC rope is made from 100% polyester that resists rotting and decay, so it can be reused repeatedly. It has been tested with a pH of 6.7 and is free of formaldehyde, heavy metals and common harmful dyes, giving you a dependable, non-toxic option compared with fragile glass globes or short-lived clay spikes.

• Durable polyester resists mold and breakdown over repeated use.
• Lab-tested for neutral pH and absence of toxic chemicals.
• Washable for maintenance and long-term reuse.

How can I control how much water each plant receives?

Water delivery is controlled by reservoir size, wick placement, and the number of wicks per pot. Smaller reservoirs and shallower wick insertion slow flow; larger containers and deeper placement increase supply. For precise control, test a setup for a few days and adjust accordingly.

• Use smaller bottles for slower, longer watering.
• Insert wick closer to the soil surface for reduced flow.
• Combine multiple wicks for thirsty plants or split a wick to serve several pots.

Can the wick reach crowded or hard-to-reach root zones?

Yes — the flexible cord is excellent for threading into tight containers, hanging planters or dense arrangements where standard drippers or globes fail. It delivers water directly to the root zone without wetting leaves, helping to avoid runoff and uneven watering.

• Thin 1/6" diameter fits through pot drainage holes and tight gaps.
• Flexible length reaches deep or distant root pockets easily.
• Targets soil only; reduces surface oversaturation and mess.

Who is this for? This ORIMERC wick is ideal for indoor gardeners, busy professionals, vacationers, and anyone growing African violets, seedlings, herbs, succulents or containers that need reliable, low-cost moisture control. It suits DIY hydroponic projects, multi-pot watering rigs and households that prefer a chemical-free, reusable irrigation tool. If you want a customizable, easy-to-clean alternative to watering globes, spikes or electronic timers, this capillary rope provides a straightforward, long-lasting solution.
