Bring a long-blooming, pollinator-friendly perennial to your garden with a single 1 oz packet designed for both novice and experienced growers. How do I start these Echinacea seeds indoors?

Begin seeds 8–10 weeks before your last expected frost for best results. Sow on the surface or lightly cover, keep medium moist and provide bright light; seedlings typically appear within 10–21 days under warm, consistent conditions.

• Use a sterile seed-start mix and trays with drainage
• Maintain 70–75°F soil temperature for quicker germination
• Provide 12–16 hours of light or a grow lamp once sprouts appear
• Harden off seedlings 7–14 days before transplanting outdoors

What growing conditions do Echinacea plants prefer?

Echinacea thrives in full sun and tolerates a wide range of soils as long as drainage is good. Once established, these coneflowers are drought-tolerant perennials that benefit from moderate feeding and occasional deadheading to extend bloom time.

• Full sun (6+ hours daily) produces strongest stems and blooms
• Well-draining soil; tolerates clay or sandy textures
• Moderate watering after establishment; avoid waterlogged roots
• Plant spacing: 12–18 inches for air circulation and mature shape

How many seeds are in the packet and what germination can I expect?

This pack contains approximately 9,300 seeds (1 oz) of heirloom Echinacea purpurea. Organo Republic tests for high viability; when stored properly in the resealable, waterproof bag you can expect strong germination for up to two years.

• About 9,300 seeds per 1 oz packet
• Domestic sourcing and tested germination rates above industry standards
• Resealable, light- and moisture-resistant packaging preserves viability
• QR code links to step-by-step growing guidance and timing charts

What maintenance will keep coneflowers healthy year after year?

Echinacea requires minimal upkeep once established: routine deadheading for continuous blooms, a spring cleanup to remove winter debris, and dividing clumps every 3–4 years if they become overcrowded. These steps support vigorous plants and lasting garden color.

• Deadhead spent flowers to promote more blooms
• Cut back foliage in late fall or early spring as needed
• Divide crowded clumps every few years to rejuvenate plants
• Mulch lightly to moderate soil temperature and moisture
