Northern Salt North Pro Heat Calcium Chloride Ice Melter 25 lb Resealable Bag — Melts to -30°F, Fast-Acting Low-Scatter Formula

Northern Salt North Pro Heat is a professional-grade calcium chloride blend that melts ice down to -30°F fast while using less product and leaving minimal residue.

Built for extreme winter conditions, North Pro Heat (NPH) is a Minnesota-tested, proprietary blend that combines active calcium chloride with trace minerals for rapid action at very low temperatures. Its naturally pink hue improves visual coverage so you know where you've spread product, and its engineered crystal size reduces scatter and tracking. Professionals and homeowners use this 25 lb resealable bag to clear driveways, sidewalks, and parking areas when ordinary salts fail.

How quickly does North Pro Heat start melting ice?

North Pro Heat activates on contact and works rapidly even in subzero conditions. Because calcium chloride releases heat as it dissolves, NPH breaks bond between ice and surface faster than standard rock salt, producing visible results without waiting for sunshine or warm air.

• Melts down to -30°F, effective in extreme cold.
• Fast-reacting calcium chloride blend for immediate action.
• Works day or night—no reliance on ambient warmth.

Will it damage concrete, vegetation, or vehicles?

North Pro Heat is formulated to reduce corrosion and minimize residue compared with common de-icers, but like any ice melt it should be used responsibly. Optimal crystal size lowers bounce and scatter, keeping product on treated areas and away from lawns and planted beds.

• Engineered crystals reduce tracking into homes and cars.
• Natural pink color provides visual guidance for even coverage.
• Designed to use up to 35% less product versus standard salt.

How should I apply it for best results on driveways and sidewalks?

Spread a thin, even layer over icy surfaces for efficient melting and to conserve product. The resealable 25 lb bag makes storage and multiple applications easy—shake or scatter by hand, or use a handheld spreader for larger areas.

• Apply before or during light ice buildup for fastest removal.
• Even, moderate coverage prevents overuse and reduces residue.
• Use spreader for large driveways or parking lots; hand scatter for steps or walkways.

How does North Pro Heat compare to standard rock salt?

Compared with sodium chloride rock salt, this calcium chloride–based formula performs at much lower temperatures and requires less material to achieve the same result. The composition and crystal design aim to cut down on bounce, tracking, and visible white residue.

• Effective at temperatures where rock salt fails (to -30°F).
• Up to 35% less product needed for comparable coverage.
• Reduced visible residue thanks to natural pink hue and balanced formulation.

Who is this for? Northern Salt North Pro Heat is for homeowners, property managers, contractors, and municipal teams who need a reliable de-icer in severe cold. Choose NPH if you want a fast-acting, Minnesota-tested product that covers well, reduces waste, and performs when ordinary salts are ineffective. The resealable 25 lb bag is convenient for storage and multiple seasonal uses, making it suitable for single-family driveways to larger commercial lots.
