NEW ENGLAND COOKWOOD Toasted Oak Cooking Firewood — 14 lb, 5" Kiln-Dried Red & White Oak for Grills, Smokers & Pizza Ovens

Toasted Oak 5 Inch Universal Cooking Firewood is a premium kiln-dried red and white oak pack delivering consistent heat, reliable starts and authentic wood-fired flavor for grills, smokers and portable pizza ovens.

This 14 lb (~1000 cu in) box of Toasted Oak is prepared specifically for cooking applications: kiln-dried to under 10% moisture, then "toasted" to deepen flavor and raise usable BTU. Pieces are cut to fit most small pizza ovens, tabletop grills and larger smokers without extra splitting. Packaging is plastic-free Kraft sourced from New England, and each batch is cured to minimize pests, mold and unwanted residues so you get clean-burning hardwood ready for culinary use.

How does this wood perform when starting a fire?

The Toasted Oak starts reliably thanks to kiln drying and toasting that reduce moisture and improve ignition. It lights easily with a small kindling bundle and quickly builds a stable bed of coals for consistent cooking heat.

• Moisture content below 10% for easier ignition
• Toasted treatment increases initial flare and char formation
• Uniform 5-inch length fits most oven / grill fireboxes

Will this wood work in pizza ovens, grills, and smokers?

Yes — the 5-inch pieces were processed to clear common firebox entrances and racks while providing long burn times. They are small enough for compact ovens like Ooni, Solo and Bertello yet deliver the heat mass needed for larger smokers and grills.

• Pieces never exceed 5.25 inches in length
• Widths vary 0.75–1.75 inches for predictable airflow and burn
• Blend of red and white oak for balanced heat and flavor

What makes this different from other bagged firewood?

This product combines kiln drying, a toasting step and hand-packing to control moisture, flavor and sizing—elements often skipped by commodity firewood suppliers. The result is cooking wood engineered for food service and home chefs rather than general heating.

• USDA-exceeding curing standards; no chemical treatments
• Plastic-free Kraft packaging for sustainability
• Delivered at high BTU value typical of seasoned oak

How much wood do I get and how should I plan a cooking session?

This box contains approximately 14 pounds or ~1000 cubic inches of toasted oak pieces, suitable for multiple short pizza bakes or longer smoking sessions when supplemented with additional fuel. For extended cooks, combine with a second box or add larger chunks for a steady bed of coals.

• 14 lb pack is a convenient single-use supply for several pizza bakes
• Hand-packed for consistent fill and reduced shifting in transit
• Half-size 575 cu in / 8–9 lb boxes are also available for sampling (if you prefer smaller portions)

Who is this for? Toasted Oak 5" Universal Cooking Firewood is aimed at home cooks, mobile chefs and backyard enthusiasts who want a clean, consistent hardwood fuel engineered for culinary use. It’s a good fit if you own a tabletop pizza oven (Ooni, Solo, Bertello), run a smoker or grill and value uniform piece size, low moisture for easy starting, and packaging that avoids plastics. If you prefer a specific flavor intensity or need larger split logs for long burns, consider supplementing with larger oak chunks or different hardwood species.
