Kiwibit 19-Inch Squirrel Baffle for Bird Feeder Pole — Wrap-Around Weatherproof, UV-Resistant Guard

The Kiwibit 19-inch squirrel baffle is a wide, weatherproof pole shield that prevents squirrels and other climbing critters from reaching your bird feeders.

If squirrels keep emptying your feeders, this oversized wrap-around guard adds a larger no-grip surface and a wobble effect that makes climbing or landing extremely difficult. Made from durable polypropylene, the baffle resists cracking, fading, and rust so it stays effective season after season without the maintenance headaches of metal alternatives.

How does the extra-wide 19-inch design stop squirrels better than smaller guards?

The wider diameter increases the clearance around the pole and forces animals to negotiate a longer, unstable surface. That instability combined with a glazed, anti-grip finish prevents paws from finding purchase, so most squirrels give up rather than reach the feeder.

• 19" diameter creates a pronounced wobble when touched
• Extended coverage blocks access from angled leaps or gliding
• Smooth glazed surface removes footholds for rodents
• Works against persistent climbers and small raccoons

Will this hold up outdoors year-round?

Yes — the baffle is molded from high-quality PP (polypropylene) that resists cracking, UV fade, and water damage. Unlike metal baffles that corrode, this material keeps its shape and appearance through sun, rain, and cold.

• UV-stable plastic resists sun fading
• Crack-resistant construction for freeze/thaw cycles
• Rust-free performance without repainting or treatment
• Easy to rinse or wipe clean after storms or pollen season

How easy is it to install and which poles does it fit?

Installation is straightforward: wrap the baffle around the pole and secure the integrated buckle. The design accommodates most common shepherd hooks and poles, giving a snug fit with minimal tools.

• Fits poles from 0.67" (2/3") up to 1.38" (1-3/8") diameter
• Snap-on buckle for tool-free setup
• Recommended placement: at least 6 feet high and 8–10 feet from trees
• Immediate protection once mounted—no assembly of multiple parts

What maintenance or care does the Kiwibit baffle need?

Very little — periodic wiping or a quick hose-down is usually enough to remove dirt and debris. The smooth glazed finish resists grime buildup, making the guard low-maintenance over its lifetime.

• Wipe with a damp cloth or rinse with a hose
• Inspect buckle and pole fit once per season
• No painting or rust treatment required
• Store indoors during extreme storms for added longevity (optional)

Who is this for? Bird lovers who want a simple, long-lasting solution to keep seed and feeders focused on wild birds rather than squirrels and pests. The Kiwibit 19" baffle suits homeowners with shepherd hooks or metal poles, anyone tired of frequent seed losses, and gardeners who prefer a rust-free, low-maintenance option that blends into outdoor spaces.
