Kitchener Chicken Plucker Electric Poultry De-Featherer 20" Stainless Drum, 1HP & 92 Soft Fingers

The Kitchener Chicken Plucker is a heavy-duty electric poultry defeathering machine that removes feathers from 2–4 birds in under two minutes using a 1HP motor, 92 soft rubber fingers and a 20-inch stainless steel drum.

If you process poultry regularly—whether for small farms, homesteads, or catering operations—this plucker speeds up defeathering while protecting skin and reducing manual labor. Built from brushed 403 stainless steel with a planetary reduction motor, it combines commercial strength with a compact footprint and transport-friendly wheels. The device runs on 120VAC and includes a GFCI safety connector and IP54-rated motor housing.

How quickly will it remove feathers from my birds?

The Kitchener plucker is engineered for fast throughput: properly scalded birds usually come clean in 15–30 seconds each. Depending on size and prep, you can process three to four birds in about two minutes, which makes it suitable for batch work.

• 1HP / 800W motor driving a planetary gear reduction at 280 RPM for steady torque
• 20-inch diameter drum fits small to medium fowl comfortably
• 92 soft rubber fingers for efficient feather removal without tearing skin
• Typical rate: 2–4 birds per cycle, 15–30 seconds per bird (when scalded properly)

What safety and durability features should I expect?

Safety is addressed with a GFCI-protected power connector and IP54 weather-resistant electrical housing. The housing and base use 403 brushed stainless steel for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning, while recommended PPE and common-sense handling further reduce risk.

• GFCI connector and overcurrent protection built into the switch
• IP54-rated waterproof electrical enclosure guards components
• 403 brushed stainless steel body resists rust and simplifies sanitation
• Always use eye and hand protection; never attempt to pluck frozen fowl

How portable and serviceable is the machine?

The plucker is designed to be compact and moveable: a robust frame, integrated wheels and a balanced weight distribution let you relocate it quickly for storage or field use. Panels and drum are accessible for routine cleaning and finger replacement.

• Compact footprint with two wheels for easy transport and storage
• Barrel thickness 0.6mm and panel thickness 0.3mm for structural strength
• Replaceable soft fingers and accessible drum for maintenance
• Simple electrical hookup: 120VAC standard household power

Which operational tips optimize performance?

For best results, scald birds to the proper temperature before plucking and avoid overloading the drum. Short, monitored cycles and occasional finger checks keep efficiency high and reduce wear.

• Scald birds correctly to loosen feathers before plucking
• Run short cycles and inspect feathers; repeat as needed
• Do not attempt to pluck frozen birds or overload the drum
• Periodically inspect and replace worn soft fingers for consistent results

Who is this for: The Kitchener Chicken Plucker suits small commercial processors, homesteaders, farm co-ops and backyard poultry keepers who need reliable, repeatable defeathering without industrial-scale equipment. It balances speed and gentleness for small batches, offers corrosion-resistant construction for wet environments, and includes safety features expected by conscientious users. If you process poultry frequently and want to save time while maintaining carcass quality, this plucker is a practical, durable choice.
