Jobe's Organics Tree Fertilizer Spikes 16-4-4, 15-Pack Slow-Release Nutrient Spikes for Trees & Shrubs

Jobe's Organics Tree Fertilizer Spikes are slow-release 16-4-4 nutrient sticks that feed trees and shrubs all season with no mixing, runoff, or mess.

These ready-to-use fertilizer spikes are designed to deliver a steady supply of essential nutrients directly to the root zone where trees and shrubs absorb them. The compact, time-release formulation minimizes waste and eliminates the need for measuring or liquid application. Install spikes around the dripline in early spring and again in late fall to maintain healthy growth and improved landscape appearance without odors or hazards.

How do these spikes deliver nutrients to trees and shrubs?

The spikes dissolve slowly in the soil, releasing a balanced 16-4-4 N-P-K formula that moves into the active root zone. Because nutrients are timed to release over weeks, plants receive a consistent feed rather than a single flush, reducing stress and avoiding over-fertilization.

• Time-release granules embedded in each spike
• Placed at the dripline to target feeder roots
• Reduces risk of runoff compared with surface-applied fertilizers
• Feeds continuously through the growing season

How do I apply Jobe's Tree Fertilizer Spikes correctly?

Application is straightforward and requires no mixing: insert the recommended number of spikes evenly around the tree’s dripline, tapping them into the soil until the cap is flush with the surface. For best results, apply in early spring and again in late fall following package spacing guidelines based on trunk diameter.

• Space spikes evenly around the dripline, not at the trunk base
• Tap caps flush with soil; no digging or measuring needed
• Use more spikes for larger trees and fewer for small shrubs
• Reapply according to seasonal recommendations for sustained feeding

Will these spikes harm my trees or the environment?

Jobe's formula is designed to be gentle on roots and will not burn trees when used as directed. Because the nutrients are delivered below the soil surface and released gradually, there is less chance of runoff or odor, and pets and people aren’t exposed to messy granules.

• Slow-release chemistry reduces nutrient leaching
• No foul smells or hazardous residue on foliage or soil surface
• Safe for use around established deciduous trees and shrubs
• Minimizes waste compared with broadcast fertilizers

When is the best time to use these spikes and how often?

Apply in early spring to support new season growth and again in late fall to fortify roots for dormancy. The slow-release action lasts through the season, so timing applications at these two key intervals helps maintain steady nutrition year to year.

• Primary application: early spring for active growth
• Secondary application: late fall to support root health
• One box contains 15 spikes—suitable for multiple small trees or several applications on larger specimens
• Refer to label for spacing based on tree trunk diameter

Jobe's Organics Tree Fertilizer Spikes suit busy yards, pet-friendly properties, and anyone looking for steady, below-surface feeding to support seasonal health and attractive landscapes.
