Greenworks 14-Inch Corded Dethatcher Scarifier — 13A Motor, 2-in-1 with 3-Position Depth

The Greenworks 13 Amp 14-Inch Corded Dethatcher/Scarifier is a 2-in-1 electric lawn tool that quickly removes thatch and surface debris while offering adjustable tine depth for customized lawn preparation.

If your lawn has a layer of dead grass, moss, or compacted surface debris that prevents water and nutrients from reaching roots, this corded Greenworks dethatcher/scarifier offers an efficient solution. With a 14-inch working path, stainless steel tines, a 13-amp motor and a quick-release system to swap between dethatching and scarifying heads, it’s designed for homeowners who want professional-looking results without heavy equipment.

How does this machine remove thatch and moss effectively?

The unit uses spinning stainless steel tines to pull up matted organic material from the turf surface. In dethatch mode the tines gently lift and collect loose material; in scarify mode the tines penetrate deeper to open the lawn surface for better air and water exchange.

• 14-inch working width covers more ground per pass for faster results.
• Stainless steel tines resist bending and maintain performance.
• 2-in-1 attachments let you choose light raking or deeper scarification.
• 3200 RPM no-load speed provides consistent tine action across lawns.

What adjustment options control how deep the tines work?

The Greenworks model includes a 3-position depth adjustment that changes how far the tines engage the turf. You can select a shallow setting for surface debris, a medium setting for thicker thatch removal, or a deeper setting for light scarification.

• Three depth positions for gradual control suitable for most lawn types.
• Quick-release head swap lets you change between rake and scarifier heads in minutes.
• Push-button start and lightweight frame make depth changes easier while handling the tool.

Is it easy to use and store for seasonal maintenance?

Yes — the corded design eliminates fuel and battery hassles, while the lightweight construction and simple controls make it approachable for homeowners. The quick-release attachment system and compact 14-inch body simplify storage in a garage or shed.

• Push-button start provides immediate, reliable motor engagement.
• Lightweight frame improves maneuverability around landscape beds and obstacles.
• Compact footprint and removable heads for space-saving storage.

When should I dethatch or scarify my lawn for best results?

Timing depends on your grass type: early spring or early fall is ideal for cool-season grasses, while late spring through early summer (after the second mowing) is better for warm-season varieties. Regular seasonal maintenance helps maintain healthy turf density and reduces pest and disease stress.

• Cool-season grasses: dethatch in early spring or early fall.
• Warm-season grasses: dethatch in late spring to early summer after second mowing.
• Light, frequent sessions prevent over-stressing the lawn; use deeper scarification only as needed.
