FELCO 22" Hedge Shears F250-57 — Swiss-made chromed carbon blades, lightweight I‑beam handles for fatigue‑reducing shrub trimming

The FELCO F250-57 is a Swiss-made 22-inch hedge shear that pairs chromed carbon-steel blades with lightweight I-beam aluminum handles for precise, fatigue‑reducing shrub trimming.

Designed for gardeners who want clean cuts, long edge retention and tool longevity, the F250-57 brings FELCO’s replaceable-part philosophy into a full-sized hedge shear. Its chromed carbon blades offer a keen edge with corrosion resistance, while the I-beam aluminum handles cut weight without sacrificing strength. The tool’s phthalate-free grips and micrometric blade-adjustment mechanism make maintenance straightforward, so the shears can remain a workshop staple for years.

How do these shears make trimming easier on long jobs?

The F250-57 reduces arm fatigue through its hollow I-beam aluminum handles that deliver a high strength-to-weight ratio. Ergonomically shaped phthalate-free grips help maintain a secure hold for extended sessions, and the 22-inch length gives extra reach so fewer steps are needed when shaping hedges.

• 22" overall length for extended reach
• I-beam aluminum handles are lightweight yet rigid
• Comfort grips reduce hand slippage over long use
• Balance designed to lower user exertion

What kind of cutting performance and durability can I expect?

Chromed carbon-steel blades provide a sharp, long-lasting edge and resist surface rust. The blades are serviceable—FELCO’s micrometric adjustment makes alignment and blade replacement fast, and almost every part is removable so the shears can be refurbished rather than discarded.

• Chromed carbon blades for edge retention and rust protection
• Micrometric adjustment for precise blade alignment
• Replaceable parts for years of service life
• Simple maintenance reduces total ownership cost

Are these shears suitable for different hedge types and branch sizes?

The F250-57 is tuned for shaping and trimming medium-thickness branches commonly found in ornamental hedges, formal topiary and shrub borders. The long blades allow smooth, continuous cuts on softwood and semi-hardwood, while the robust construction handles tougher shoots within typical hedging limits.

• Best for hedge and shrub trimming up to medium branch diameters
• Long blades enable sweeping cuts across multiple shoots
• Strong handles absorb higher loads without flexing
• Not intended as a heavy-duty lopping tool for large branches

Who is this for? The FELCO F250-57 suits home gardeners, professional landscapers, and maintenance crews who value a combination of precision cutting, low weight, and rebuildable design. If you prune hedges frequently and prefer tools that can be serviced rather than replaced, these shears deliver professional-grade performance with straightforward upkeep.
