FEED GARDEN clear tube bird feeder 13" Copper — hanging outdoor seed tube for small songbirds, 1.5 lb capacity

The FEED GARDEN 13" clear-tube copper bird feeder is a hanging seed tube built to welcome small songbirds while keeping larger, messy raiders from dominating the feed.

This compact, 13-inch feeder combines a transparent polycarbonate tube with metal lid, base and feeding ports to deliver an easy-to-refill, weather-ready station for finches, chickadees, sparrows and nuthatches. It stores about 1.5 lb of seed and is intentionally sized so seed turns over quickly instead of sitting stale. Lightweight to hang and simple to maintain, it’s designed for backyard viewing from a window, patio or shepherd’s hook.

How does this feeder favor small songbirds over bigger birds?

The feeder uses six small feeding ports and 1.4" perches sized specifically for small species. Larger birds cannot easily grasp those perches, which discourages them from clinging and spreading seed around. The result is cleaner feeding and less wasted seed on the ground.

• Six ports sized for finches, chickadees, sparrows and nuthatches
• 1.4" perches that large birds can’t grip comfortably
• Smaller tube volume limits leftover seed that attracts big birds
• Helps reduce seed spillage from aggressive, larger species

How easy is it to refill and monitor seed levels?

The lid lifts straight up for fast, spill-free refills and the clear tube lets you check seed at a glance from across the yard. The wide opening removes the need to funnel seed through a narrow neck, and the tube holds a practical amount so you refill before seed goes stale.

• Lift-top metal lid for quick refills
• Transparent polycarbonate tube shows remaining seed
• Holds approximately 1.5 lb of sunflower, safflower or mixed seed
• Small-capacity design encourages frequent turnover of fresh seed

What maintenance does the feeder require to stay sanitary?

Cleaning is straightforward because the tube is clear and the lid lifts off. Empty and brush the inside through the ports, rinse, and let it dry upside down; regular cleaning prevents damp seed from accumulating and reduces mold risk.

• Tip upside down to remove packed seed, then brush through ports
• Rinse the tube and air-dry completely before refilling
• Recommended every 2–3 refills or after wet weather exposure
• Base is fixed—clean through openings rather than disassembling

Where and how should I hang this feeder for best results?

The metal hanger fits standard shepherd’s hooks, deck poles, or branches so you can place it within sight of a window for easy viewing. If squirrels are active in your yard, hang it with a pole baffle or place it away from launch points; the feeder itself is not squirrel-proof.

• Hangs from shepherd’s hook, deck pole or tree branch
• Ideal location: within view of a kitchen or living-room window
• Use a baffle or pole if squirrels are a problem
• Suitable for year-round use, busiest in late fall and winter
