How does the solar light function and how long does it glow?

The unit features a small solar panel that charges an included rechargeable 1.2V AAA 300mAh Ni-MH battery while exposed to daylight. When set to the ON position, the LED lamp automatically illuminates at night once the battery is charged. Typical performance targets 6–8 hours of light after a full daytime charge, depending on sunlight intensity and seasonal conditions.
