DECYOOL Paper Wasp Nest Decoys 4-Pack — 8.5" x 11" Brown Non-Toxic Visual Deterrents

DECYOOL 4 Pack Paper Fake Wasp Nests are lightweight, easy-to-hang decoys designed to imitate an occupied nest and discourage territorial wasps like yellow jackets and hornets.

These brown paper decoy nests mimic the size, shape and texture of natural wasp hives to create the illusion of a rival colony. Sold as a set of four, each pre-cut decoy assembles quickly and hangs where wasps commonly scout for nesting spots. They work as a non-toxic, low-maintenance option for outdoor areas where you want to reduce wasp activity without sprays or traps.

How do these decoy nests discourage wasps from settling?

Wasps are territorial insects and typically avoid establishing a new nest near an existing one. The DECYOOL decoys simulate an occupied hive’s appearance, prompting foraging and scouting wasps to look elsewhere. This is a visual deterrent rather than a lethal control method.

• Four 8.5-inch-diameter, 11-inch-height paper decoys per pack for visible presence
• Brown, layered paper texture mimics natural hive contours and coloration
• Strategic placement near entry points reduces the odds of nesting nearby
• Non-chemical approach appropriate for yards, patios, and pool areas

Where should I hang the DECYOOL fake nests for best results?

Place decoys in locations where queens and foragers commonly scout, such as rooflines, eaves, near trash or recycling bins, and by standing water like pools or ponds. Hang them under sheltered areas to prolong the paper’s life and keep them visible from multiple angles.

• Edge of the roof or under eaves to mimic natural nest height
• Near garbage cans, compost, or barbecue areas that attract wasps
• Close to pools, ponds, or birdbaths where wasps seek water
• Avoid direct rain exposure and high-humidity spots to prevent damage

When is the ideal time to deploy these wasp decoys?

Early spring is the most effective season to hang decoys, because queens search for nest sites at that time. Installing the decoys before nesting begins offers the greatest chance of deterring a colony from starting nearby. You can leave them up through summer and into early fall for continued visual presence.

• Hang in early spring before queens start building nests
• Keep up throughout summer for ongoing territorial signaling
• Remove or store in late fall or before prolonged wet weather
• Replace if the paper becomes soggy, torn, or faded

How simple is assembly and maintenance for these paper decoys?

Each DECYOOL decoy assembles in a few straightforward steps and includes a hanging loop for quick installation. The lightweight paper design stores flat to save space when not in use. To protect the product’s life, hang under cover and avoid areas with persistent humidity or direct rainfall.

• Quick fold-and-slot assembly; no tools required
• Integrated string or loop for immediate hanging
• Store flat indoors during off-season to extend longevity
• Inspect periodically and replace if damaged or waterlogged

Who is this for: The DECYOOL 4 Pack Paper Fake Wasp Nests suit homeowners, renters with outdoor spaces, gardeners, and anyone seeking a pet- and kid-safe visual deterrent for wasps. They’re ideal for people who prefer non-chemical, low-effort methods to reduce the likelihood of wasp nesting near patios, sheds, decks, trash areas, and pools. If you need an easy-to-install, temporary deterrent to discourage territorial wasps rather than remove an existing infestation, these decoys offer a practical first step.
