CHTSJQW Chicken Picnic Table Wooden Feeder Kit — Carbonized Large Raised Mesh-Bottom Feeder for Chickens, Ducks & Wild Birds

CHTSJQW Chicken Picnic Table is a handmade carbonized solid-wood DIY feeder that keeps poultry feed dry, reduces waste, and is simple to assemble.

This outdoor-ready chicken feeder combines a sturdy, varnished carbonized wood frame with a powder-coated stainless-steel mesh base to promote drainage and airflow. Designed as a kit for easy home assembly, the picnic-table style trough raises feed off the ground to prevent spoilage and scattering while offering a roomy eating surface suitable for chickens, ducks, wild birds and squirrels.

How does the mesh bottom keep feed fresh and reduce mess?

The feeder’s high-density stainless-steel mesh is powder-coated to resist rust and improve longevity. Mesh allows water to drain away and air to circulate under the feed, so grains dry faster and won’t cake from moisture. Raised feeding also discourages birds from trampling or scattering food onto dirty ground.

• Stainless-steel mesh with powder coat for durability and rust resistance
• Open weave promotes drainage and ventilation to reduce dampness
• Raised trough design prevents ground contamination and minimizes waste
• About 20% larger capacity than comparable trays for fewer refills

What makes this wooden feeder weather-resistant and long-lasting?

The main structure is carbonized solid wood, a process that improves stability and reduces splitting compared with thin spliced boards. Surfaces receive a varnish finish that’s odorless and non-toxic, helping the assembly stand up to outdoor exposure without collapsing or degrading quickly.

• Carbonized solid wood resists warping and provides stable support
• Varnished finish adds a protective barrier without harmful smells
• Screwed construction secures parts for outdoor use during rain
• Simple maintenance: wipe clean and reapply finish if needed

Is the kit easy to build and suitable for DIY beginners?

Yes. The kit includes the wooden trough body, supports, rectangular slats, screws, and a screwdriver so you can assemble it without extra tools or advanced skills. Clear instructions guide each step, turning construction into a short DIY project with a practical result for your coop or yard.

• Complete kit: wood pieces, screws, screwdriver and instructions included
• No special tools required—hand screwdriver sufficient
• Assembly is straightforward and suitable for most users
• Enjoyable small woodworking project that yields immediate benefits

How does this feeder accommodate different animals and feeding routines?

The picnic-table layout offers a spacious, shallow trough ideal for chickens, ducks, smaller poultry and visiting wildlife like wild birds and squirrels. Its size and openness make it simple to scatter mixed grains, pellets or treats while the mesh preserves dry conditions for longer feed life.

• Versatile for poultry, wild birds, ducks and small mammals
• Large feeding surface reduces competition and spillage
• Works well for daily grain, pellet, and treat feeding
• Easy to top up and clean between uses

It’s a good pick if you want a durable, weather-ready feeder that’s simple to assemble, improves feed hygiene, and delivers better value through enlarged capacity and reduced spoilage.
