ARS Hand Pruner 7-Inch Heavy-Duty, Squeeze-to-Open with Hard Chrome Blades

ARS HP-VS7Z is a 7-inch heavy-duty hand pruner built for professional gardeners who need exceptionally sharp, rust-resistant blades and a squeeze-to-open handle for efficient repetitive pruning.

The ARS HP-VS7Z refines what a compact professional pruner should be: razor-sharp cutting edges with hard chrome plating, an ergonomically offset blade geometry that reduces hand strain, and a durable anchored coil spring that stands up to daily use. This smaller 7-inch model is designed for users with smaller hands or anyone who prefers a lighter, more maneuverable tool without sacrificing the heavy-duty performance of larger models.

How does the HP-VS7Z stay sharp longer than other pruners?

The blades use ARS’s high-quality steel with a hard chrome plate finish that protects the edge from sap buildup and corrosion, preserving sharpness through frequent cutting. The edge geometry is factory-sharp and holds that angle longer than typical consumer pruners, so you spend less time sharpening and more time working.

• Hard chrome-plated blades resist rust and sticky sap
• Precision-ground cutting edge for extended sharpness
• Factory-tuned blade geometry for consistent performance

Why is the squeeze-to-open handle design useful for gardeners?

The HP-VS7Z opens when you squeeze the handles, leaving your free hand available to guide stems, hold vines, or steady branches. This approach reduces awkward two-handed maneuvers and helps maintain workflow speed during repetitive tasks like harvesting or trimming hedges.

• Squeeze-to-open frees the other hand for plant handling
• Offset blades align with natural wrist position to reduce fatigue
• Compact 7-inch frame offers better control in tight spaces

What makes this pruner durable enough for professional use?

Every component is chosen for longevity: the hard-plated blades, a full anchored wire coil spring that resists popping or breakage, and a balanced body that distributes force evenly. The construction minimizes maintenance and keeps the tool working reliably season after season.

• Full anchored coil spring prevents spring ejection and premature failure
• Robust blade mounting and balanced design for repeated heavy duty cuts
• Low-maintenance finishes reduce corrosion and sap adhesion

How well does the HP-VS7Z handle precision work in tight spaces?

At 7 inches, this pruner is sized for detailed tasks where reach and control matter—pruning fruit trees, shaping ornamentals, or harvesting delicate stems. The slim head and sharp edge let you make clean cuts near buds and tight joints without crushing plant tissue.

• Compact size ideal for close-in pruning and harvesting
• Slim head profile reaches crowded branches and tight clusters
• Sharp cutting edge delivers clean cuts that support plant recovery

Who is this for: The ARS HP-VS7Z suits professional landscapers, orchard workers, florists, and avid home gardeners who prefer a smaller, highly durable pruner with pro-grade blades and an efficient squeeze-to-open action. If you need a tool that combines precision, longevity, and reduced hand strain in a compact 7-inch form, this model is aimed at that balance of performance and comfort.
